Stephen Koo

Registered Physiotherapist

Stephen completed his Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) and Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. Stephen has also obtained his Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Level 1 certification.

Fluent in English, Cantonese, and conversational Mandarin, Stephen’s treatment philosophy is to empower clients to reach their highest potential in function and goals be it returning to sports, work, or play by utilizing manual therapy and exercise prescription to target the root of their problems.

Stephen has a passion for ball and racket sports having played competitive volleyball, tennis, and soccer growing up, as well as teaching and competing in hip hop dance, all which you can find him doing outside of the clinic.

Junichi Swope

Registered Physiotherapist

Junichi graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Masters of Physical Therapy, after receiving a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the same university. While completing his studies, he worked as a student Athletic Trainer for varsity athletes, treating sport-specific musculoskeletal injuries. Junichi also has prior experience as a Kinesiologist in private practice, assessing and treating clients with ICBC and WCB related injury claims. His treatment style focuses on manual therapy, exercise, and client education with the aim of empowering the client with the appropriate knowledge to take control of their pain and rehabilitation. Outside the clinic, you can find Junichi riding his bike around Vancouver, working on his golf swing, or learning a new piece on the piano.

Nicole Weger

Registered Physiotherapist

Nicole obtained a Bachelor of Kinesiology and a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia. She completed her Level 1 Manual Therapy Certification from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Orthopedic Division and has recently completed her Clinical Pilates training through Calibrate Pilates.

As a physiotherapist, Nicole believes in taking a holistic approach to her practice. Her treatment approach uses a combination of manual therapy, exercise prescription, therapeutic modalities and education tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. Nicole’s clinical interests include musculoskeletal injuries, women’s health, clinical Pilates and post-operative joint replacement rehabilitation.

In her spare time, Nicole loves to explore the outdoors in beautiful B.C. whether that be hiking, biking, kayaking or skiing. She also enjoys spin and Pilates classes, and spending time with her rescue dog.

Natalie Grant

Registered Physiotherapist

Natalie graduated from McMaster University in 2004 and has worked in many areas including private practice, community care and hospital-based rehabilitation. She has taken post-graduate courses in IMS, acupuncture, orthopaedics and women’s health and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT).

In addition to being a clinician, Natalie is also an educator – instructing in the Master of Physical Therapy program at UBC as well as the Internationally Educated Physiotherapist Exam Preparation Program.

Natalie’s sessions typically focus on biomechanical analysis, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and may include IMS (dry needling) or acupuncture.

Outside of work Natalie can be found playing outside, cycling, kayak touring and cooking with friends and family.

Calvin Wong

Registered Physiotherapist

Calvin has completed his Masters degree in Physical Therapy (MPT) from the University of Western Ontario, and holds a Bachelors in Kinesiology from McMaster University. Calvin enjoys using the Integrated Systems Model (Lee & Lee), an approach that empowers clients by optimizing performance of movement. As part of this client specific approach, Calvin often uses his extensive post-graduate training in spinal and joint manual therapy and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT). Calvin also has training in active release techniques, craniosacral therapy (CS 1 + CS 2), Intra-muscular Stimulation (IMS, dry needling), and anatomical acupuncture. Calvin often uses these manual techniques in combination with corrective therapeutic exercises to allow clients to find optimal movement strategies to restore movement, enhance function and optimize performance.

Calvin is the co-owner of Woodland Physiotherapy. During his career he has helped clients recovering from motor vehicle accidents, recreational and competitive sports injuries, pelvic health, pelvic pain and pelvic floor rehabilitation, and repetitive overuse injuries.

Outside of the clinic Calvin enjoys trail running, rock climbing, skiing and travelling.

Amanda Rnic

Registered Physiotherapist (* Currently On Maternity Leave until Jan-2024)

Amanda is the co-owner of Woodland Physiotherapy. She has been fascinated by the way people move for most of her life, starting from when she was a young athlete in modern pentathlon. After years of competing nationally and internationally in fencing and shooting, she decided to turn her interest in the human body into a career. She completed her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto in 2010 and is an instructor at Vancouver Community College.

She has completed extensive post-graduate training in needling techniques and manual thearpy. She has completed her Upper and Lower Quadrant Manual Therapy level 3 in pursuit of the Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy Course as well as being both UBC Chan Gunn IMS certified and Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute certified. She is also trained in the Integrated Systems Model (Lee & Lee), Neural and Visceral Manipulation from the Barral Institute, and is a certified pelvic floor therapist.

She has a keen interest in helping people manage their injuries and symptoms, returning them to their regular activities while minimizing risk of re-injury. Amanda enjoys treating people of all abilities and has experience treating a wide range of conditions such as repetitive overuse, arthritis, whiplash and sports injuries. In her free time she enjoys running, rock climbing, skiing, cycling and playing the banjo.

Larissa Costa

Registered Physiotherapist

Larissa completed her Bachelors in Physical Therapy at the University of Sao Paulo Brazil in 2007. In 2011, she completed her Masters in Science in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Alberta. Larissa has completed numerous other post-graduate courses including Anatomical Acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, Mulligan Manual Therapy (2012), and pelvic floor courses (2019/20).

Larissa is fluent in Portuguese and English

Stephanie Fraser

Registered Physiotherapist

The daughter of two energetic Physical Health Educators, Stephanie learned from a young age the importance of healthy movement in creating a vibrant life and has since woven this belief into both her work and personal life.

Stephanie graduated from l’universite d’Ottawa in 2000 with a Bachelors in Physiotherapy, following a degree in Biology and Education from Queen’s University. She has worked in acute care, occupational rehabilitation and injury prevention. Stephanie is an instructor at Vancouver Community College where she teaches in the Occupational and Physiotherapy Assistant Program. She has completed the Discover Physio Series with Diane Lee and LJ Lee, which focuses on a whole-body integrated model.

Stephanie recently completed her clinical pilates instructor training with Calibrate Pilates and is passionate about actively helping her clients find even greater joy from the things they love – sport, caring for family or just moving with greater ease and grace each day.

Outside of work, you will find Stephanie hanging out with her three kids, playing tennis, near the water or plotting out her next home renovation or vacation.

Tina Jasinovic

Registered Physiotherapist

Tina’s passion for rehabilitation sparked early in her athletic career, where she experienced first-hand the impact of injury, along with the value of having a caring and knowledgeable physiotherapist by your side. Her academic journey began at the University of British Columbia, where Tina graduated with her Bachelor’s in Kinesiology and Masters of Physical Therapy. Throughout her clinical experience she has worked with clients recovering from sports-related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, neurological injury, post-surgical recovery, and individuals living with persistent pain.

Tina utilizes collaborative and personalized treatment plans that encompass manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and education to support her clients in achieving their goals. She strives to empower her clients by giving them the knowledge and tools to be active participants in their rehabilitation journey both inside and outside of the clinic.

Tina has completed her Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Level 1 Diploma through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and continues to engage with coursework to be up to date on how to best support her clients.

When she is not in the clinic, you can find Tina up on the mountains skiing or hiking, or down on the mainland running, rollerblading or playing volleyball. If she’s not outdoors, you can find her reading, drawing, or trying out a new vegetarian recipe!

Hayley Ng

Registered Physiotherapist

Hayley graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2010. After graduation, Hayley completed numerous postgraduate clinical courses. Hayley is certified in intramuscular stimulation (IMS, Dry Needling) and anatomical acupuncture. She has additional training in manual techniques including muscle energy techniques, peripheral manipulations, McKenzie and Mulligan Concepts.

Prior to working with Woodland Physiotherapy, Hayley practiced as a Physiotherapist in outpatient orthopaedics and sports physiotherapy as well as a medical/legal consultant physiotherapist in both Canada and U.S.A. Hayley treated a large population span from infants to seniors. Her practice encompassed assessment, treatment and providing discharge recommendations for people involved in motor vehicle accidents, worksite injuries, sports injuries, surgical candidates as well as general orthopedic concerns.

Hayley’s interests include photography, fitness and spending time with her family. She hopes to travel to all seven continents one day.

Cheryl has had the absolute joy of practicing massage therapy for the past 7 years. She is thrilled at the prospect of helping others meet their health goals through massage. Her work has a holistic focus. Charyl is present and listens to her clients specific needs, and supports them in where she can.

Cheryl is experienced in myofasical release, swedish, and deep tissue massage. When she is not working, Cheryl enjoys hiking cooking and meditation.

Nikki Ying

Physiotherapist Support Worker | Yoga Therapist

Nikki is a certified Yoga Therapist who graduated in 2020 from Vancouver School of Healing Arts. She is trained in trauma informed Integrated Systems Model (ISM), La Lupavia’s Held in Grief, Rainbow kids’ yoga, SoulWork trauma sensitive kids’ yoga and is certified for Health and Nutrition Coaching from The Health Coach Institute.

Nikki’s yoga therapy offerings are a blend of Western knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and mind-body psychology with ancient Eastern Yogic practices, such as breath work, postures (asana) and meditation. Nikki was drawn to yoga therapy as the offerings are curated with a wholistic, human-centered approach that focus on determining the root cause while recognizing the interconnectedness of your emotions, thoughts, and body. No previous experience is needed to enjoy the offerings of Yoga Therapy.

Nikki also teaches public yoga classes for adults at Oxygen Yaletown, and for kids through The Yoga Buggy Association, offering kids across the lower mainland an opportunity to experience yoga.

Outside of work, you can find Nikki playing in the forest with her beloved dog, attending local workshops on creative art projects, and exploring all the wonderful sea to sky offerings of Vancouver.
